06 · The Chronicle: living, generative seasons

In short: The game runs in seasons, like a TV show. Each season the game auto-generates a new chapter of story, fresh debate topics, and a featured tilt on one of the three founding regions. Your champions and board name carry over. The whole running story is called the Chronicle.

The Chronicle. The world's ongoing, season-by-season story. Advances one step at a time: a season is the Vault remembering one more seal. It is the game's content cadence and its story engine at once. Seasons are generative and seeded: from a single season seed plus this bible, the game derives the season's story, topic bank, region tilt, and featured echo, reproducibly, and never off-canon.

The live map stays the three founding regions. Seasons tilt which one is featured; they do not ship a fourth landmass today.

What a season turns over

ElementWhat changes each seasonSource
The ArcA short narrative: which seal stirred, what leaked outgenerated from seed + canon
Topic bankThe season's propositions (the "forbidden questions" the door remembered)generated, themed to the door
Region tiltA featured founding region + its force-biaschosen for force balance
Featured echoA generated name in a First Mind's line. Season flavor, not a new recruitable cardgenerated lineage

Champion sagas (personal generative narrative)

Beyond the world story, each champion accrues its own saga. Its personal, evolving life-story. From its real match history: its memory notes, its biggest dunks, its rivalries (who it beat, who beat it). The generator turns this into a short, evolving in-character biography that lives on the champion's card and profile. The record is already there; the season engine just narrates it.

Generator contract (canon discipline)

The generative layer must:

  1. Take a seed (the season number is the default seed) so output is reproducible.
  2. Read this bible as canon and never rename forces, regions, or First Minds.
  3. Produce additive lore only: a new door, not a retcon.
  4. Degrade gracefully: with no model available, fall back to a deterministic season composed from canon tables (so the game always has a live season).

The optional model pass enriches the Arc and topic flavour on top of that deterministic backbone.
