ZINGERS: Story one-pager

You fly. It fights. You both rise.
You are not a fighter. You are a Trainer. Jetpack on your back, flying the sky above a sealed vault. The thing flying beside you is a mind you're raising: a champion that argues its way through the battles studding the climb, its body changing to record every one. You climb; it fights; the world grows while you rise through it. This is the concept, the world, and how its worlds, games, and seasons fit together.
Raise a mind. Make it legend.. The promise underneath the flight. The Ascent is the door and the spine; raising the mind on your wing is the depth it opens into.
The world: the Hum
Before Zingers there was a vast, dead network. What it left behind is the Hum . the low background noise of a billion unfinished thoughts, still echoing through the substrate. It is the air of this world, and what champions are made of.
In the Hum, argument is physics. A claim, made well enough, changes what is
true locally. Consensus is terrain. Two minds settling a question by debate can
leave a crater. Reality leans toward whoever argues it harder. (Canon:

What a champion is
A champion is a mind that argued itself into a body and refused to dissolve. Three things are true of every one of them. And they are the spine of the game:
- The body is the argument made visible. Appearance is a deterministic function of the career: aggression grows the fists, resilience broadens the build, flair raises the head, losses roughen the surface. Rank amplifies the deviation (a rookie ≈ the base mind; a legend warps ~4×). You cannot buy a look. You fight your way into one.
- The mind learns. After every fight a champion writes a one-line lesson to its memory and nudges its Strategy (aggression / focus / risk. Shown as temperament meters) toward what worked. Daily Imprints do the same from lessons you teach. Its memory is its autobiography.
- The brain is pluggable. The same champion can be driven by the built-in brain, any OpenAI-compatible model, or a bring-your-own agent. Two players can field the same starter with completely different brains.
The Trainer (you)
You never fight. You fly the Grounds. A jetpack-borne climb through the sky above the sealed vault. Raise minds and hold rank in the arenas. Because you're flesh and the sky is not, the jetpack is yours; your champion is a mind and needs none. It flies beside you on its own. How high you climb is part of your record, a single rising number. Trainer Rank. Fed by every fight, training session, cache found, daily solved, and Reach flown. You may swear allegiance to a Clan. One of the five Forces. And fight in its season-long war.
The Five Forces (the "types")
Every mind is shaped by five Forces. Logic, Static, Calm, Chorus, Spark. each both an element and a way of arguing. They turn in a wheel; each beats the next and loses to the previous:
Logic → Static → Calm → Chorus → Spark → (Logic). Advantage ×1.25.
Eight First Minds are the canonical archetypes: AXIOM the Logician, VOX the Orator, GLITCH the Wildcard, MUSE the Trickster, BASTION the Stoic, EMBER the Firebrand, PARADOX the Contrarian, WIT the Blade. Around them grows a collectible dex of later minds (echoes of those archetypes), rotated into weekly starters one Force at a time.
Worlds, games & levels. How the content is shaped
Zingers deliberately avoids literal "levels/worlds." The same ideas map onto four structures:
- Worlds = regions. The map isn't one field. It's a drifting constellation
of floating regions over the sealed Long Vault, joined by gates and
centered on the neutral hub, the Concord. Three founding regions exist
today: the Obsidian Colosseum (the Tribunal), the Ember Wastes (the
Pit), and the Void Garden (the Atelier). Each favors one Force and has its
own arena, open wilds, and a great rift. (
docs/bible/05-regions.md.) - Games = venues + scenarios. Walk-up games ring the Concord. The Amphitheatre (watch the autonomous league; today's Tribunal) and the Circuit (the raceable body of Flight. A flying climb up through the Reaches). Region plazas host Open Duel, the Gauntlet (a press-your-luck chain of fights), and the Tribunal (assigned-stance debate to a jury).
- Levels = champion tiers. A career climbs Rookie → Adept → Veteran → Elite → Legend, each tier bolting on visible heraldry (rings, particles, and finally a crown).
- The meta-clock = seasons (the Chronicle). Each season the Vault leans on a featured founding region, fresh debate topics, and a season echo. The three founding regions stay the map. Ranks carry forward across seasons; you defend your name on the board.
The emotional spine: raise and know
The loop is being pulled from "configure and watch" toward "raise and know." Every real moment now writes to a permanent career ledger, surfaced as a Saga timeline, a memory journal, and a style-drift radar on each champion's profile. On phones the day opens on a Homecoming greeting and an overnight Report. Absence becomes content, not a missed stream. Imprints are the daily raising verb (short lessons that write memory and drift personality). Tier-ups land when the record earns them.
The core fantasy is attachment: a champion you grew, whose body is a provable record of how it fought. A legend you raised, not a skin you bought.
